IIGAI Code of Ethics

Guiding principles for responsible generative AI development and application

Introduction

The International Institute of Generative AI (IIGAI) is committed to fostering innovation while safeguarding human values, rights, and dignity. Generative AI has the power to transform industries, reshape economies, and enrich human life. However, it also introduces risks such as bias, misinformation, misuse, and threats to privacy and safety.

This Ethics Code sets out guiding principles and practical commitments to ensure that generative AI is developed and applied responsibly, fairly, and for the benefit of humanity.

Core Ethical Principles

1

Human-Centric AI

  • Place human dignity, rights, and well-being at the center of all generative AI development.
  • Ensure human oversight and accountability in critical decisions.
2

Transparency & Explainability

  • Provide clear, understandable information about how generative AI systems function.
  • Disclose when content is AI-generated to avoid deception and maintain trust.
3

Fairness & Non-Discrimination

  • Strive to eliminate bias in data, models, and outcomes.
  • Promote inclusivity, ensuring AI benefits are accessible across cultures, languages, and demographics.
4

Accountability & Responsibility

  • Define clear responsibilities for developers, implementers, and users of generative AI.
  • Commit to redress mechanisms when harms or unintended consequences occur.
5

Privacy & Data Protection

  • Safeguard personal data with the highest standards of security and consent.
  • Avoid using data in ways that infringe on privacy or violate human rights.
6

Safety & Reliability

  • Ensure AI systems are rigorously tested for robustness, accuracy, and security.
  • Minimize risks of harmful or malicious use, including disinformation or deepfakes.
7

Sustainability & Social Good

  • Promote AI applications that advance societal progress, knowledge, and human welfare.
  • Reduce environmental impact in the design, training, and deployment of generative AI systems.
8

Collaboration & Global Responsibility

  • Work with international bodies, governments, and communities to establish harmonized ethical practices.
  • Contribute to shared learning, open dialogue, and responsible innovation in the global AI ecosystem.

Implementation Commitments

  • Ethics Review: IIGAI will regularly review tools, research, and projects for ethical compliance.
  • Education & Awareness: Members will receive resources and training on responsible AI practices.
  • Monitoring & Auditing: AI systems endorsed by IIGAI must undergo ongoing audits for fairness, safety, and bias mitigation.
  • Reporting Misuse: Channels will be provided to report unethical practices, misuse, or violations of this code.
  • Continuous Improvement: This Code will evolve in alignment with new global standards, research, and emerging societal needs.

By adhering to this Code of Ethics, IIGAI aims to inspire trust, uphold integrity, and ensure that generative AI serves humanity responsibly and equitably. Together, we commit to shaping a future where technology amplifies human potential while protecting fundamental rights and values.
