Abstract

This annual report from the Thomson Reuters Institute surveys over 1,700 professionals in legal, tax, accounting, and government sectors to gauge the state of Generative AI adoption. It finds that while usage has nearly doubled year-over-year and sentiment has shifted from hesitation to excitement, strategic gaps remain. Most organizations are not measuring ROI, and a majority of clients are unaware of their outside firms' AI usage. The report highlights the urgent need for better governance, training, and client communication to bridge the gap between ad-hoc adoption and true strategic value.
