Generative Artificial Intelligence Survey Report
Abstract
This report details the results of a QQI survey conducted between December 2024 and February 2025, capturing the views of staff and learners in Ireland's tertiary education sector regarding Generative AI. It finds that while there is high awareness of GenAI, significant gaps exist in institutional policy, training, and preparedness for the workforce. Staff express concern over academic integrity and the potential devaluation of qualifications, while learners call for clearer guidance on permissible use. The report underscores the need for national and institutional policies to manage the ethical, assessment, and equity implications of GenAI in education.
